Hong Kong Seed Technology and Education Center

Vision

Hong Kong Seed Technology and Education Center aims to support Hong Kong agriculture transiting to modernization, improve the technical level of seed quality testing, encourage local farmers to grow high-quality seeds, promote agricultural education and conservation as well as enhance recultivation.

Main Work

  1. Establish a physical and online seed bank
  2. Test and identify good-quality, resistant and landraces seeds
  3. Organise seed technology talks, workshops and community outreach activities

Background

Supported by the Hong Kong Agriculture, Fisheries and Conservation Department’s Sustainable Agricultural Development Fund (SADF), the Center is established in July, 2020 under the leadership of Professor Lam Hon-Ming from the Chinese University of Hong Kong.
